The function is to clamp the brake disc to generate braking force. The calliper body is the calliper's main structure and is made of cast iron or aluminium alloy. The calliper generates much heat when working. The calliper body and piston are usually made of metal, which has good heat dissipation and can transfer heat to the air to prevent the brake system from overheating.
